Oma Lee Baines was born on October 13, 1922 in Anniston and died in Panama City, Fla. on January 13, 2016 at the age of 93. She was the youngest and last living sibling of 9 children born to Pearl and Henry (Sandy) Baines. Oma Lee remained single all her life, serving as caretaker for her aging parents until her mother died. She then moved with her father to live in Panama City where her sister, Opal and her husband, YZ Casey lived. Throughout the remainder of her life, she lived with family members in Panama City. She is survived by her niece, Joan Casey; her two children, Lynn Sokoloski and Jean Epling; her niece, Dorothy Grant and her three children, Greg Snow, Sabrina Brisco and Cathy Mc Combs; a special grand-niece, Cody Hudgens Collazo, of Baltimore, Md. She is also survived in Anniston by niece, Clarice Womack; nephew, Melvin Womack; numerous other nieces and nephews in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee. Oma Lee was an "Angel on Earth" and will never be forgotten by those who loved her so much. Funeral service arrangements are by Southerland Funeral Home in Panama City and Gray Brown-Service Mortuary in Anniston. She will be buried beside her mother and father at Eulaton United Methodist Church Cemetery in Anniston. Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 15, 2016 at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary.
