Funeral service for Mr. Paschal "Pat" Steed, 89, will be held at 2 p.m. today, November 29, 2015, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with the Rev. Justin Holland officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 30, 2015, at 1 p.m. (EST) at Crestlawn Memorial Park, 2000 Marietta Boulevard NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. Mr. Steed passed away at his home on November 27, 2015. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Sexton Steed. Mr. Steed was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served in WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Oxford, the New Beginning Sunday School Class and Carpenters for Christ. He was a Gideon and an ordained deacon at First Baptist Church of Atlanta prior to moving to Oxford in 1997. Survivors include his wife, Bettie Wilson Steed; daughter, Patricia Steed King and her husband, Mark; a son, William P. Steed; granddaughter, Candy S. Hopkins; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800 or to the Building Fund at First Baptist Church of Oxford, 95 East Oak Street, Oxford, AL 36203.
