Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Chapel for Patricia Carolyn Dendy Divine, 67, of Glencoe who went to her Heavenly home before sunrise Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Brother Frank Samuels will officiate. Burial will follow at Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Cemetery. GlencoeHokes Bluff Funeral Home and Cemetery is in charge of services. Patricia was born and raised in Mississippi. She grew up next door to her high school sweetheart and they married in 1968. She worked with her husband, David Sr. as owners of Sonic Drive-In in Anniston and then in Gadsden from 1977 until 1993. Then in 1994 they were founding owners of the original Dad's BBQ in Anniston until she got sick with MS in 2005. Patricia was known as Mom to her three children, and momma Pat to many thru the years. She was also known as MawMaw, Aunt Pat, and "Dinky" by her loving husband and caregiver for the past 11 years. Patricia was a member of College Heights Baptist Church in Glencoe. She is preceded in death by her parents, Leonard M. and Margaret Estelle Dendy; her sister, Judy Armstrong, all of Mississippi. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, David A Divine Sr.; daughter, Carol (Matthew) Robertson; sons, David (Amanda) Divine Jr. and Paul Divine; grandchildren, Tyler (Ashley) Divine, Zackery Cowley, Colton Divine, Charli Robertson, David Adam Divine and Nathaniel Divine; great-granddaughter, Chloe Ann Divine; brother, Kenneth Dendy, of Jackson, Miss.; sisters, Linda Luke and Jane Deal, both of Jackson, Miss.; brother-in-law, Randy Armstrong, of Jackson, Miss; sister-in-law, Lena Mae (Lonnie) Donley, Arkansas; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tyler Divine, Zackery Cowley, Randall Brown, Dawson Brown, Matthew Robertson and Matt Gwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Colton and David Adam Divine. Special thanks to Dr. Debora Reiland, SICU and 8th floor nurses at GRMC, Alacare Home Health and special family friends Crystal Brown and Alvin Johnson for all you have done to assist our family this past year.
