Patrick John Sonnier, 78, went to be with his Lord March 4, 2015. He was born on May 4, 1936 in Lafayette, La. and has lived in Oxford for the past 43 years. Patrick is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Greta D Sonnier; daughter, Angelle Sonnier Smith (Dwight), of Weaver; by two granddaughters, Arlevia and Emily Smith; sisters, Janice Martin (George), Claire M. Sonnier, Dena Longcrier (Henry), Harold Sonnier (Laura) and Jimmie Sonnier (Louella); a sister-in-law, Lana Dial Osborn and several special nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015 in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the service until 3 p.m. Pat retired from the Army National Guard and the Anniston Army Depot. A man who loved deep sea fishing, hunting, Braves baseball, working out and spending time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters. He had a way of making people feel special and appreciated and he will be greatly missed by all.
