Patrick Joseph Miller passed away peacefully in his home on December 28, 2016. The son of Leo and Viola Miller, Pat was born in Jefferson, Iowa, and raised in central Wisconsin. He loved hunting, tinkering on engines, raising a garden and doing yard work. He was an avid football fan, with his favorite teams being the Green Bay Packers and the Crimson Tide. He loved hosting visitors in his new home, showing them the Oxford area and telling of its history. Pat had been a dairy farmer for part of his life, but his passion was working on engines, large or small. Being a devout Christian, Pat was an active member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Anniston. He was the devoted husband and soul mate of Carol; the loving father and father-in law of Kurt (Danielle) Miller, David (Lori) Miller, Brenda (Jamie) Scheel and Brian (Tasha) Miller; the devoted grandfather of ten, and the loving great-grandfather of three. He will be deeply missed by siblings and siblings-in-law, Terri Misener, Mary (Alan) Griepentrog, Gina (Dale) Bauer, Kathy (Bryan) Hauser, Janet (Doug) Kops, John (Angie) Miller, Betty (Stan) Kauer, and Joseph Burrow. He is preceded in death by parents, Leo and Viola Miller; parents-in-law, Bob and Merle Moore; sister, Suzanne; two brothers-in-law; one niece and two nephews. Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at Miller Funeral Home in Oxford. Special thanks to supporting friends and neighbors and the wonderful care provided by numerous physicians and Compassus Hospice.
