Funeral service for Mrs. Peggy Ann Latham, 82, will be today Tuesday May 12, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with the Rev. Doug Prestridge officiating. Burial will follow in the Barfield Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Latham passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015, in Anniston. She was a native of Clay County and after marrying her first husband, MSgt Gerald Latham USAF, moved with him from duty station to duty station until his retirement in 1968 when they settled in Calhoun County. She was a homemaker and a member of the YMCA in Anniston where she taught senior adult swimming classes. Mrs. Latham enjoyed working with ceramics, pottery and "being out there in the dirt" doing flower and vegetable gardening, She was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist church in Cleburne County and had been attending Weaver Congregational Methodist Church. Mrs. Latham is survived by her husband, Josie Hughes, of Weaver; three sons, Jerry Latham (Brenda), of Anniston, Donald Latham (Dottie), of Weaver and Michael Latham (Susan), of Anniston; one sister, Sonia Stedham (Lawson), of Trussville; two brothers, Allen Perry, of Decatur, Miss. and Mickey Perry (Barbara), of Tucson, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Brown Perry and Lucille Neighbors Perry; her first husband, Gerald G. Latham; and one brother, Danny Perry. Pallbearers will be Jerry Latham, Donald Latham, Michael Latham, Mike Latham, Jerry Lee Latham, Tyler Layman, Anthony Jennings and Lee Hicks. Send on-line condolences to
