Peggy Lowry Gulledge, age 88, died on Friday, October 27 at her home in Anniston, Alabama. Born in Lineville, Alabama to Hubert and Maude (Lashley) Lowry, the family moved to Anniston when Peggy was eight. Peggy was an avid music lover and was active in both the Adult and Handbell choirs at Parker Memorial Baptist where she was a member for over 65 years. She retired from Regional Medical Center after 32 years of service as an administrative assistant and then had a short second career at Stringfellow Memorial. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Joe Frank Gulledge. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Cox (Rex Cox), grandson David Reeves (Byron Whitt) and her dog, Bradley. The family wishes to thank the staff of Kindred Hospice for the care and support given, and to Sherry Edwards and Heather Dover for their personal care and attention. Ever the caretaker of stray animals, Peggy loved spending time outdoors tending to her yard and her beloved pets. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Cheaha Regional Humane Society in Anniston. The family will welcome friends for a memorial service at Parker Memorial Baptist Church in Anniston on Saturday, November 4, 2017, 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until service time. Miller Funeral Home and Crematory 256-831-4611
