A memorial service for Mr. Perry Evans White, 82, will be held on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Revs. Jackie Bentley and Barney Austin will officiate the service. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 p.m. - 3 p.m. Mr. White passed away on June 9, 2016 at NHC. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sybil White; children, Teresa Boozer (Bryan) and Ken White (Ronda); grandchildren, Candice Aversano, Randy White (Merritt), Shannon Allen (Devin), Shelley Pugh (Michael) and Spencer Boozer; seven great-grandchildren; three brothers; one sister and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father and step-mother, Claude and Clora White; mother and step-father, Hortense and M.L. Andrews; three brothers and one sister. Mr. White was born in Anniston on October 18, 1933. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1952. After high school, he joined the Air Force where he served from 1952-1956 in the Korean War. After leaving the Air Force, he attended Jacksonville State University. He spent his entire career at Anniston Army Depot and retired in 1987. He was a charter member and served as a deacon at Faith Baptist Church in Coldwater. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Eastaboga. Mr. White enjoyed wood working and loved Auburn Football. The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Tracy Hall and Dawn Burkett with Gentiva Hospice; special friends and caregivers, Judy Garcia and Stephanie Beltran, both of Home Helpers of Jacksonville and to the nurses and staff at NHC Healthcare.
