Funeral service for Peter "Pete" Turner, 72, will be today at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church Saks, 4725 Saks Road, with Dr. Randy Postell, Dr. Cecil Sewell, and the Rev. John Copeland officiating. Burial will follow in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until service time. Survivors include his wife, Margaret Mitchell Turner; his daughter, Pamela Turner; his mother, Else Turner; his brother, Bud Turner (Jamie); special nieces, Anna and Taylor Turner; his sisters-in-law, Cindy Purner (Mike), Eloise Haddock, Madeline McAnally, Audrey Pounders and Sue Mitchell and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, M.Sgt. Louie Turner and sister, Karen Turner. Pallbearers will be Rick Goedde, Philip Thacker, Brent Encinias, Ricky Bell, Mike Purner and Manuel Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Kingsman Sunday School Class and employees of Anniston Pump Shop. Mr. Turner was a member of First Baptist Church of Saks, owner of Anniston Pump Shop and a graduate of Nuremberg High School in Nuremberg Germany. He was a Geico Agent for over 20 years and was known as "Mr. Geico". In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church Saks Building Fund, 4725 Saks Road, Anniston, Al 36206.
