A funeral service for Mr. Ralph Edward "Peat" Prince, 84, will be Sunday, September 4, 2016, at 3 p.m. at the West Jefferson Baptist Church, 4901 Freewill Road, Quinton, AL, 35130, with Eric Dryden officiating. Burial will be in West Jefferson Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service, at the church, on Sunday. Mr. Prince died on Friday, September 2, 2016, at his residence. He is survived by his son, Andy (fiancé, Michelle Griffith) Prince of Jacksonville; two sisters, Linda (Bob) Carver, of Hueytown and Rosa (Leonard) Velez, of West Blocton; one brother, James (Barbara) Prince, of Hueytown; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Todd Wilson, Tommy Dunn, David Beach, James Prince, Andy Prince and Gene Kennedy. Mr. Prince was a Baptist by faith. He was a Korean War veteran, serving his country in the U. S. Navy. Mr. Prince was a Master Mason of the Apollo Lodge 921 in Huntsville and a member of the Hiram 42 F&AM Lodge in Jacksonville. In his spare time he enjoyed dancing and making paper jewelry with his homemade paper beads. Mr. Prince was deeply grateful for his family and friends and will be greatly missed. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Alacare Hospice of Anniston, Oxford Home Health, E.A.R.P.D.C. - Alabama CARES Program, K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jacksonville, and the many family members and friends that came to visit during his illness.
