Funeral service with military honors for Ray B. Harcrow, 91, will be Saturday 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with the Rev. Samuel Fordham officiating. Entombment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Mr. Harcrow passed away at his home, March 3, 2015. Mr. Harcrow was born on December 15, 1923, in Etowah County, Alabama, to Luther R. Harcrow and May Dell Herring Harcrow. After serving in the U.S. Army during WWII, he married Martha Louise Mintz, of Peeks Hill on December 21, 1946. He was a poultry and cattle farmer. Mr. Harcrow served as a deacon for many years at Oak Bowery Baptist church in Ohatchee. Survivors include his son, Benny Ray Harcrow (Vicki), of Montezuma, Ga.; his daughter, Selma Joy McMinn (Bob), of Ohatchee; grandson, Michael Raxter (Tonya), of Slocomb, Ala.; three great-grandchildren and three sisters, Boots Marie Salmon, of Warner Robbins, Ga., Becky Stewart, of Birmingham and Diane Marler, of Jacksonville. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Louise Harcrow; sisters, Lucille Henderson, Rachel Calhoun, Elzora Able and a brother, John Harcrow. Our family would like to offer special thanks to his caregivers Julie Baxter, Carey Hutton, Karen Whitehead and Tina Combee and New Beacon Hospice. Pallbearers will be Jerry Courtney, Michael Raxter, Floyd Hale, Ricky Nolan, Robert McMinn and Julie Baxter. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class at Oak Bowery Church. The family requests memorial contributions may be made to Oak Bowery Baptist Church, 3300 AL. Hwy 144, Ohatchee, AL. 36271.
