Retired SFC William EDD Jackson, 71, died Tuesday, August 1, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. Funeral service will be held 12 p.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Parker Memorial Baptist Church 97 Emoral Circle in Eastaboga, with the Rev. Roger Sims officiating. Interment will follow in Parker Memorial Gardens according to Hill-Watson Memorial Chapel at Rose Hill LLC 2919 Hamilton Road Columbus, GA 31904. Ret. SFC Jackson was born July 27, 1946 in Talladega, son of the late Samuel L. and Lola Mae Sanders. William was drafted in the United States Army in July of 1968 and worked as a military policeman for the majority of his twenty years of service. Upon retirement he became a valued team member of the AFLAC security department. Mr. Jackson could not enter a church without sitting at the piano. He served faithfully as the Minister of Music at Prospect A.M.E. Church and several other churches until his death. He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving and devoted wife, Annie Ruth (Honey Pot) Jackson; children, Andrea (Anthony) Sullivan, William E. (Danielle) Jackson III, Shiwana J. (Eric) Jordan and Tracy Chambers; siblings, Donald (Jennifer) Sanders, Samuel (Debra) Sanders and Sandra Faye (John) Gass; nine grandchildren and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
