Funeral services for Rev. Walker H. Dean, 94, of Anniston, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 15 at the Golden Springs Baptist Church with the Reverends Roland Brown, Tommy Reeves and Jerry Cobb officiating. Burial will follow in the Forestlawn Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Dean will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Dean; daughter, Peggy Dean Ogle; son, Walker E. Dean, all of Anniston; brother, Homer Dean, of Bolivar, Mo.; grandchildren, Denise Haynes, Kevin Ogle, Matthew Dean and by six great-grandchildren, Connor, Chandler, Caroline Haynes, Jacob, Katie and Caleb Ogle. Pallbearers will be Kevin Ogle, Matthew Dean, Ricky Noel, Bill Turner, Terry Hill and Ernie Prater. Honorary Pallbearers will be the laymen that have been influenced under his personal ministry and his contemporaries who served along with him. Rev. Dean was a native of Talladega County and a resident of Calhoun County most of his life. He was pastor of several churches in the Calhoun County area. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II where he served as an aviation mechanic and ministered to his fellow company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samford and Susie Barnett Dean and by his sisters, Pauline Roach, Flora Prater and Pearl Austin. Miller Funeral Home
