Funeral service for the Reverend Frederick F. Durant, 51, will be on Saturday, December 12, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Seventeenth Street Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Everett B. Kelley officiating. Interment will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. The Rev. Durant passed away on December 7, 2015 at Regional Medical Center. The Rev. Durant's remains will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. The Rev. Durant graduated 1982 from Walter Wellborn High School, he served in the United States Army, he served as pastor at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church, Sunlight Missionary Baptist Church, First United Presbyterian Church and was a Associate Minister at St. Mary Missionary Baptist Church. His passion was Outreach Ministry and he served with the Anniston Funeral Service Outreach Ministry. Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Durant; children, Shawana (Gary) McCormick, Shante' Montgomery, Tavarus (Keisha) Cosper, Harvester Smith and Damian Smith; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Willie (Kesha) Durant, Sammie Durant, Irene (Jhona) Pace, Sadia (Howard) Clark, Dorothy (Elliot) Barkhalter, Mary Durant, Cynthia Durant Kemp, Winaford Durant; in-law, Lizzie L. Durant; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddie and Ella M.
