Richard Scott Hatten (Rich, Rick) passed away at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas on August 18, 2015 of an apparent heart attack. Born in Heidelberg, Germany in 1957 to a military family, he spent his childhood overseas and in the United States. The greatest part of his youth was spent in Weaver. He is a graduate of Weaver High School and attended Jacksonville State University before enlisting in the Airforce, where he attended Chinese language training at the Defense Language Institute. Following his military service he settled in San Antonio and obtained his degree as a registered nurse. He is survived by his son, Joshua Hatten and daughter, Sarah Hatten, both residents of San Antonio. Also living are his brothers, James Hatten and Michael Hatten and a sister, Barbara Hatten Rossie. He is preceded in death by his parents, James F. Hatten and Joyce Cooke Hatten, of Weaver.
