The funeral service for Mr. Robert James Causey, 69, will be held today, Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the Church of Cragford with the Rev. Bennie Yates and the Rev. Jerry Colquett officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens. Mr. Causey passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016, at the Wedowee Hospital. He was a native of West Point, Ga. and had lived in Cragford for most of his life. Mr. Causey received his Master's Degree in Education from Jacksonville State University and worked in the Talladega County School system for 32 years, teaching Math and Driver's Education before retiring in 2000. He then went to work for the United States Postal Service from June of 2000 until 2008, working mainly at the Cragford Post Office and also working as Post Master Relief for other post offices within the county. Mr. Causey had served in the Army National Guard for seven years and was a member of the Church of Cragford. He is survived by his wife, Jan Causey; two daughters, Karen Williams and Sarah Causey; one son, James Causey and two grandchildren, Tyler and Belle Williams, all of Cragford. Mr. Causey was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Eddie Causey and Zelma Mozell Burdette Causey. Pallbearers will be Daniel Ray Morrison, Daniel McDonald, Ben Burton, Ray Stansell, David Elrod, Larry Robertson and Leroy Brown. Mr. Causey will lie in state for one hour prior to service time at the church. Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville is in charge of the arrangements. Send online condolences to
