Memorial service for Robert Lee Wagers, 66, will be 5 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Whorton Bend Baptist Church. Bro. Joey Jones will officiate. Cremation provided by Glencoe-Hokes Bluff Funeral Home & Cemetery. Robert Lee Wagers passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Robert was full of adventure. He was born in Tuscumbia and lived in Littleville, Alabama before starting school. His father was in the military so Robert started his education in Junction City, Kansas, followed by Shweinfurt, Germany and ending in Jacksonville where he graduated from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Business Administration. He has been an Eagle Scout, on a dare was the first male cheerleader at Jacksonville High School, a professional diver, veteran of the Vietnam War serving as a crew chief in the Air Force, owner of Wagers Kawasaki, owner of a security company and owner of Wagers Construction Company. Robert was an avid bass fisherman being a former member of Oxford Bass Club, a member of the Board of Directors at the Conservation Lake in Gallant, Alabama, a member of NBHA ALO1, a farmer and a dedicated barrel racing dad. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Robinson Wagers; mother, Lucy Barkley Wagers; sister, Martha Jane Hollis. He is survived by his wife, Joy Wagers; son, Richard Wagers; daughters, Lisa (Glenn) McFadden, Samantha Pailes, Emily (Jeremy) Kennedy, Jennifer (Shane) Becker and youngest daughter, Carley Wagers; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Dana) Wagers, Charles (Myrna) Wagers and many nieces and nephews.
