Funeral service for Ronald Leroy Baumhardt, 81, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Chuck Conley officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Mr. Baumhardt died Saturday at his home. Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Donna Mae Baumhardt; two sisters, Delores Lara, of Gilberts, Illinois and Alice Cantlin, of Marengo, Illinois, and one brother, Henry Baumhardt, of Eligin, Illinois. Mr. Baumhardt was born on March 13, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois and had resided in Anniston for the past 40 years. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1959 where he served 20 years including serving in the Vietnam War. Upon retiring from the Army, he was employed at the Anniston Army Depot as a production controller and maintenance worker for 27 years. He was an avid golfer and a television enthusiast whose favorite show was "Let's Make A Deal". He was a loving husband and a friend to all who knew him. He was of the Christian faith.
