Rosa Ann Hobbs, 80, died Thursday morning, January 15, 2015, at Deaconess Hospital. She was born on October 25, 1934 in Anniston, the daughter of Luther M. and Mattie Josephine (Morgan) Owen. She married Clyde Hobbs on July 15, 1955 in Anniston. She graduated from Anniston High School in 1952. Rosa worked 16 1/2 years for GE and 4 1/2 years for Martin-Marietta. She worked for March of Dimes and Easter Seals and was very passionate about their causes. She was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. She is survived by her husband, Clyde; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Sandy Hobbs, of Mt. Vernon; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Paul Swanson, of Mt. Vernon and Kathy and Henry Bockelman, of Evansville; 6 grandchildren, Meghan (Matthew) Thurlow, Emily Keck, Ashley Wager, Abby Culliver, Frehley Woods and Sadie Hobbs; brothers and sisters-in-law, Luther Marvin (Wanda) Owen, of Anniston and Clark Morgan (Carolyn) Owen, of Madison; sister, Betty Jo Sprayberry, of Weaver. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Dani Marie Hobbs. Funeral service was held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home with the Rev.
