Graveside service for Mrs. Ruby Latham Johnson, age 86, of Jacksonville will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Robert Fowler officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at KL Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Mrs. Johnson passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Ruby was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, the Alabama Education Retirees' Association, and the Calhoun County Education Retirees' Association. She was also a lifetime member of the JSU Alumni Association. Ruby was a teacher in area schools and after retiring from Kitty Stone Elementary School in Jacksonville, she became an instructor for Adult Education GED/ESL. Survivors include her daughters, Deborah Shelton of Jacksonville, Marcia Stallings and her husband, Jay, of Jacksonville, and Jennifer Graham and her husband, Jon, of Alabaster; her grandchildren, Tyree Shelton, Halee Stallings, and Reagan Stallings of Jacksonville, and Noah Graham of Alabaster; her sister, Evelyn Blaylock of Ft. Payne; a brother, Edward Latham of Lineville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph E. Johnson; an infant son, Stanley Keith Johnson; parents, Ulus and Alice Latham; grandson, Jack Henry Graham; sisters, Janyce Marie Latham and Verna Abney; and brother, Gerald Latham. Pallbearers will be Noah Graham, Tyree Shelton, Jon Graham, Jay Stallings, Jackson Bell, and James Green. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made payable to ACS Warrior Center "Jack Henry Graham Memorial Fund" and mailed to Alabaster City Schools Warrior Center 1953 Municipal Way Suite 200 Alabaster, AL 35007.
