Services for Mrs. Ruby T. Johnson, 78, of Oxford will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2013, at Miller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating and burial will follow at Dogwood Trails Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Mrs. Johnson died Friday, September 13, 2013, at her residence. Survivors include her husband, J.C. Johnson, of Oxford; sons, Larry Smith (Diane), of Hopewell, N.J., Timmy Smith (Julianne), of Hopewell, N.J.; daughters, Carolyn Phillips (Ben), of Oxford, Debbie Florence, of Lake Wells, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Brenda Smith, of Oxford; stepsons, John Johnson (Brenda), of Delta, Paul Johnson, of Greensboro; stepdaughter, Pat Rivers (Eddie), of Rome, Ga.; brothers, Elmus, M.C. and Earl Talton; sisters, Barbara Heath and Claudia Rowland; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Tim Smith, Adam Smith, Matthew Smith, Roger Talton, Alan Patterson, Buddy Wayne Patterson, Greg Patterson, Ven Phillips and Alan Miller. Mrs. Johnson was a native of Attalla and a resident of Oxford for the past 50 years. She was the former owner of Smitty's Short Stop Café, manager at CJ's for 20 years and a member of Cheaha Baptist Church. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her first husband, Travis C. Smith; sons, Gerald Smith and William (Bill) Smith; granddaughter, Shamberly Smith; sister, Mary Patterson and brothers, Ray and Doyle Talton. Miller Funeral Home
