Piedmont - Funeral services for Mr. Rufus Oneal Cook, 87, of Piedmont, will be held at 8 tonight, June 6, 2013, at Thompson Funeral Home. The Revs. Tommy Ballew and Kenny Ballew will officiate. Committal services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Old Bethel Church with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 p.m. until the time of services. Mr. Cook died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston. He was employed with Kimberly-Clark for many years until his retirement. He is survived by his wife, Marie Cook; son, Billy O. (Melody) Cook; step-daughter, JoAnn (Tommy) Ballew; grandchildren, Thomas Ballew, Joyce (Allen) Monsma, Eddie Ballew, Kenny (Kelley) Ballew, and Chandler Cook; great-grandchildren, Myrandah Schutt, Dylan Ballew, Derrek Monsma, Ashley Ballew, Tyler Ballew, Kaylie Ballew, and Rachael Ballew; great-great-grandchild, Kaleigh Schutt; a brother, Lawson Cook; and sisters, Willodene Harris and Ruby Sue Cook.
