A funeral service for Ruth A. McKenzie, 93, will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at 2 p.m. at the West Point Baptist Church with the Revs. Scott Smith and Ronnie Moore officiating. Burial will be in West Point Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 - 8 p.m. and for one hour at the church prior to the service. Mrs. McKenzie died Thursday, April 21, 2016 at her home. She is survived by two sons, Darrell McKenzie and his wife, Kay and Dale McKenzie and his wife, Tina; two grandchildren, Autumn McKenzie and Tammy (Jason) Rudd; five great- grandchildren, Dillan Rudd, Madison Rudd, Laycie Shell, Draiden Shell and Alliyah Shell. Pallbearers will be Jason Rudd, Sonny Thackerson, Sonny McGinnis, Eddie Aderholdt, Kenneth Cash and Johny Whatley. Honorary pallbearers will be Draiden Shell, Paul Carr, Roy Nelson, James Parris, Billy Carr, Johnnie Crane and Haskell Pritchett. Mrs. McKenzie was a Baptist by faith, who started playing the piano at age 11 at the West Point Baptist Church and continued there for 58 years. She also played at Fairview Baptist Church for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, John McKenzie and her parents, John Hughes and Eula Mae Smith.
