Obituary
The Guest Book is expired.

A memorial service and celebration of life for Mr. Samuel C. Gibson II, 83, known to most as Sam or Sonny, will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Weaver Congregational Methodist Church with the Pastor Keith Merritt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the services. Mr. Gibson passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness surrounded by his loved ones on July 6, 2016 at RMC in Anniston. He is preceded in death by his parents, Samuel C. Gibson I and Ollie Mae Gibson Thompson, and his sister, Gloria Gay Gibson Uptain. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Edna Jo Gibson, of Anniston; his sons, Samuel C. Gibson III, of Anniston, and Keith E. Gibson, of Rainbow City; sister, Joyce Gibson Beshears King, of Anniston; brothers, Raymond Gibson (Juanita), of Huntsville, and Jimmy Gibson, of Anniston; sister-in-law, Dot Gibson, of Anniston; three grandchildren, Shannon, Logan and Kennedy; two great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Gibson was well known and respected highly, as he worked in the mortgage/financial business and building and construction of homes and businesses. His favorite pastime was deer hunting. After retirement his hobby became going to Trade Days and flea markets. He never met a stranger and was loved and respected by all who knew him and will be missed. The family requests no flowers, as he lovingly donated his body to science to continue to help others - as was his trademark - and requests donations be made to the Weaver Congregational Methodist Church, PO Box 220, Weaver, AL 36277. This world is minus one wonderful person now.
