Graveside services with full military honors for SFC Dallon Eugene Hicks, US Army, retired, 79, of Oxford, will be at 12 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2017 at Forestlawn Gardens with Chaplain Derek Smith officiating. Mr. Hicks passed away on December 1, 2017 at Diversicare of Oxford. Mr. Hicks was a native of Tennessee and was a loyal Tennessee Vols fan. He served a distinguished 20 year career in the United States Army and was a combat veteran of Vietnam. Mr. Hicks was also retired from Anniston Army Depot. He loved his family, adored his wife, and was a doting grandfather who loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Hicks is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruby Faye Hicks; a daughter, Cherie Crumley (Tim); his sons, Richard Brummett (Joanna), Ronald Brummett, Randy Hicks (Nikki) and Billy Hicks (Jessica); numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a brother, Jim Hicks (Carol). In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Fisher House Foundation, 111 Rockville Pike #420, Rockville, MD 20850 (www.fisherhouse.org).
