Sharron (Sherry) Ann Ballew Waldrop (Martin), 67, of Dalton, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015, at home surrounded by her loving family. Sherry was born on January 17, 1948 in Anniston, Ala., where she married Gerald Waldrop and later moved to Dalton, Georgia. She was employed as a legal assistant, court transcriber and loan officer for over 35 years. She then owned and operated The Flower Cottage for several years. Sherry excelled in all that she did. She was a honest, loving and devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her father Clarence Echols Martin; mother, Mary Edna Brown and brother, Jimmie Lee Boyd. She is survived by her sons, Barry, Gerald (Gee Gee) and Gregg; eight grandchildren, Lauren, Tyler (Kayla), Dylan, Rebecca, Brooke, Jade, Alex and Keegan; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Paisley, Ember and Bryson; brother-in-law, Ferrell (Mousey); sister-in-law, Rita and brother, Glen Boyd (Tina). A memorial service officiated by Pastor Phil Price will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Julian Peeples Funeral Home, 2801 Cleveland Hwy in Dalton,Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to American Liver Foundation, under make a memorial gift in Sherry's honor.
