Funeral services for Mrs. Shelbie Jean Sheppard, 75, of Anniston will be today, December 1, 2013, at 6 p.m. at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with burial on Monday at 11 a.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends this evening at 5:30 p.m. and on Monday from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Mrs. Sheppard passed away November 29, 2013 at her home in Anniston. Mrs. Sheppard is survived by her daughters, Rene (Jimmy) Greene and Pam (Mike) Nunn; Bill Greene; brother, Junior (Dorothy) Cates; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Greene, Phillip (Angela) Greene, Benjamin (Lauren) Greene, Chad (Ashley) Nunn and Kyle (Haley) Nunn; eight great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Doris Cates. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Sacred Harp Singers. Mrs. Sheppard was a native of Muscadine and a resident of Anniston for the past 13 years. Mrs. Sheppard resided in Gadsden for 25 years and was a member of Muscadine Methodist Church. Mrs. Sheppard was very proud of the fact she was married for 57 years. Mrs. Sheppard was very active in The Sacred Harp Singing Community and an avid supporter. Flowers will be gratefully accepted but donations made to S.H.M.H.A. in her honor are encouraged.
