Funeral service for Sherman Bailey, 64, will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at 1 p.m. at the Mars Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Charles E. Burton Sr. officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Eden Hills Cemetery. A wake will be this evening 5-7 p.m. at the chapel. Mr. Bailey passed away on October 8, 2015. Mr. Baily's remians will arrive at the church one hour prior to his service. Mr. Bailey graduated 1970 from Calhoun County Training School. He served in the U.S. Army and after 31 years of service he retired from the Anniston Army Depot. Survivors include his wife, Avery Bailey; children, Kinyata (Brannon) Moten, Sabrina (Christopher) Abernathy, Bernard (Paula) Robinson; his mother, Gladys B. Dudley; siblings, Leon (Elaine) Dudley, Walter (Rachel) Dudley, Clement D. (Michael) Kemp, Gladys (Roosevelt) Thornton, Clara (Henry) Sales, Rosemary (Barry) Bowie, Ella (Ronald) Sutton; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
