Funeral service for Sherman Ray Wise, 62, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday January 23, 2016, at Bettaview Congregational Methodist Church on Bettaview road in Oxford with the Rev. Rodney Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Chapel Hill. Mr. Wise passed away Wednesday at Regional Medical Center. Survivors include his wife, Jean Wise; daughter, Angelia "Angie" Wise Romine; granddaughter, Rebecca Jean Romine; beloved pet "Lil Bit"; special friends Ken and Debbie Pearson; sisters, JoAnn McNac, Ruby Young (Tommy) and Carrie Jane Middleton; brothers, Thomas Eugene Wise (Barbara) and Wayne Wise; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Wise was preceded in death by his parents, Hollis and Stella Wise; brothers, Ed Wise and Lloyd Wise; brother-in-law Willie McNac. Pallbearers will be Roger Cox, Danny Hanner, Greg Curtis, Mark Bean, Jimmy Matthews, James (Bob) Matthews, Briar Cox and Chase Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Angles and Dudley Moody. Mr. Wise served in the US ARMY Company D 46 Engineering Battalion Combat out of Ft. McClellan. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot and was a faithful Deacon of Bettaview Congregational Methodist Church of Oxford. He was a devout Christian, best husband, the best dad and the greatest Paw Paw in the world. He was the most fun-loving man in the world and a devoted Alabama fan.
