Rev. Skyler James Clark, 30, was suddenly taken from us on November 5, 2016. Born April 9, 1986, to James Elbert (Sonny) and Linda Walker Clark Jr., of Heflin. He was a 2004 graduate of Cleburne County High School. After high school, he attended Gadsden State, where he was a co-op of Anniston Army Depot, where he was still employed at the time of passing. Skyler met the love of his life, Amanda Law, of Piedmont, through an online chat room, and never looked back. Through Amanda's love of God and dedication to her church, she lead Skyler to the Lord, his personal Savior, and soon felt the call to preach and carry the word of our awesome God. Skyler loved his devoted wife for almost 10 years. Their hopes of having their own child, was an unachievable dream, even after attempting IVF. They would soar on the wings of anticipation, just to crash in the depths of despair after the death of each embryo. The couple turned their love toward being foster parents and was called Daddy and Mama by 8 children. He accomplished so much in his short life, he was a dedicated hunter and was a huge fan of the Crimson Tide. He received his license, and was happy to perform the wedding of his cousin, and the funeral of his beloved uncle. Skyler had the gift of helping his fellow man, which was his last act of kindness, before leaving this world. He was an active member of Northside Baptist Church of Piedmont, and will be missed by his church family. Besides his parents he is survived by his wife, Amanda Law Clark, of Jacksonville; brothers and sisters-in-love, Derrick Sonny (Rebecca Haynes) Clark, of Anniston, and Jason Toy (Natasha Wilson) Clark, of Heflin; grandmother, Aledes Newborn Walker, of Heflin; parents-in-love, David and Sarah Law, of Piedmont; grandmother-in-love, Bonnie East, of Piedmont; brothers-in-love, Gaberiel Law and Cory Law, both of Piedmont; nephews, Bryce, Brody, Lucas and Lawson Clark; nieces, Cadence and Lyndee Grace Clark; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by numerous souls of embryos, that Skyler now holds until their mother joins them; grandparents, Elbert and Myrtle Clark Sr., and Joe R. Walker, of Heflin; grandparent-in-love, Leon East, of Piedmont, and uncle, Jimmy Dean Walker, of Heflin. Pallbearers will be Jeremy East, of Piedmont, Josh Elders, Chase Lee, of Alexander, Bryce Clark, of Heflin, Brian Walker, of Fruithurst, and Nicholas Riddle, of Jacksonville. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 9, 2016, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Dryden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mark Cooper and the Rev. Chris Naugher, of Northside Baptist Church, officiating. Internment will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church on County Road 66, with the Rev. Mack Prichard officiating.
