Service for Steve Robertson, 63, will be Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 3 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Moye officiating. Burial will follow at Piedmont Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Robertson passed away Thursday, May 20, 2015 at his home. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Starla Dempsey Robertson, of Piedmont; daughter, Erin Robertson Adderhold (Brad), of Spring Garden; one granddaughter, Ava Grayce Adderhold, of Spring Garden ; one sister, Susan Robertson Suits (Todd), of Lafayette, Georgia; mother and father-in-law, Jewell and Weldon Dempsey, of Piedmont; two nephews, Owen and Tanner Suits; and one niece Ashton Suits. Pallbearers will be George Cobb, Tim Brooks, Mo Spears, Wain Robbins, John Brewster, and Doyle Newton. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Piedmont Throttle Kings Car Club. Mr. Robertston was born in Anniston and had been a resident of Piedmont for the past 39 years. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot and was a school bus driver for Cherokee County School System for 16 years. He was the owner and operator of Robertson's Boat Doc. He was a member and president for the past several years of the Piedmont Throttle Kings Car Club and was an avid antique car enthusiast and owner of a 1964 Ford Galaxie. He loved fishing, camping, and Auburn football. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Ava Grayce. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Bettye Robertson.
