Funeral service for Sue Cotton will be held at 3 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs with Pastor Bob Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Forestlawn Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. Cotton passed away on August 8, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Cotton was born in Jackson County. Sue owned Jack Cotton Realty and was an admired and well respected member of the real estate community. Her true passion in life was her family and countless friends. The continuation of her dreams will be seen in her family for many years to come. She was a longtime member of Blue Mountain Baptist Church. Sue was also a member of the Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce and the Calhoun County Board of Realtors. Mrs. Cotton is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Cotton and her parents, Porter Pendergrass and Nellie Pendergrass Teal. Sue is survived by her sons, Stephen Cotton, Derrick Cotton and Mark Cotton; sisters, Jody Burrage, Aultry Barclay and Ruby Webb; brother, Aubrey Pendergrass; granddaughter, Kirstyn Cotton; grandsons, Jason Cotton (Aarika) and Brandon Cotton (Danielle); three great- granddaughters, Briella Cotton, Ellie Kate Cotton and Sophie Grace Cotton; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Richard Burden, Tony Ball, Fiso Jones, John Henry, Bill Niemeir and Weber Borrell. Honorary pallbearers will be George Smith and Mike Purner. The family wishes to thank her wonderful and caring friends who made Sue's last days peaceful and comfortable, Anita Brooks, Andrea Burden, Cindi Purner and Debbie Davis.
