The funeral service for Mrs. Sue Doss Boozer, 86, will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel in Jacksonville with Dr. Stan Albright officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Boozer passed away on February 13, 2017. Sue grew up in DeArmanville and later moved to Jacksonville where she spent the rest of her life. She earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science in Secondary Education at Jacksonville State University. Sue spent her 31 year career as a teacher and guidance counselor at her alma mater, Oxford High School. Sue was an avid reader and bridge player, devoted to youth and education, active in her community, and most of all loved cooking and baking for, and entertaining her many friends and family. Mrs. Boozer is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Paul E. Boozer; her parents, G. W. 'Will' and Luvenia Cain Doss, and her sister, Mary Frances 'Polly' Doss Hickey. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Cain Boozer. Pallbearers will be Stan Bennett, Michael Boozer, Jerry Fant, Maurice Johnson, Allen Knight, Tim Knight, Mitchell Knox, Dennis Reaves, and Ron Whitney.
