Cleveland, TN - Talma Lucille Hyde Hawkins, 92, a resident of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Thursday morning in a local health care facility. Mrs. Hawkins was the daughter of the late Bertha Jane Ware Hyde and Vernie Abner Hyde. Her husband, John Wyatt Hawkins; her sons-in-law, Leonard Colley and Billy Welch; her sisters, Edna Landrum, Geneva Duncan and Ruby Frazier and her brothers, Edward Hyde and Ronald Hyde also preceded her in death. Mrs. Hawkins enjoyed working in her yard and her vegetable and flower gardens. She enjoyed singing and working with children with their Bible study. Mrs. Hawkins was very active in her Church including teaching Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Landmark Church of Jesus in Cleveland. Survivors include her daughters, Charlotte Colley, of Cleveland, Tenn., Connie Short and her husband, Thomas, of Sand Mountain, Candy Cross and her husband, Boots, of Lamontville, Tenn.; her grandchildren, Lynne Kennedy and her husband, Paul, Lanne Hildenbrandt and her husband, Stephen, Russell Short, Kathi Fowler and her husband, Jake, Karen Sims and her husband Glen, Matthew Welch and LCpl Daniel Welch; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Estelle Ellis of Pinehurst, North Carolina and several nieces and nephews also survive. The Remembrance of Life Service will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. from the Landmark Church of Jesus with Pastor Ron Hyde officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Hill Cemetery with Paul Kennedy, LCpl Luke Kennedy, Nathan Kennedy, Joel Kennedy, Stephen Hildenbrandt, Caleb Hildenbrandt, Zachary Hildenbrandt, Thomas Short, Russell Short, Jake Fowler, Bud Fowler, Glen Sims, Boots Cross, Matthew Welch and LCpl Daniel Welch serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Hawkins will be at the church for viewing from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends today from 2 - 8 p.m. at the North Ocoee Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes has charge of the arrangements.
