Funeral service for Tara Nicole Eidson, 39, will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017, 11 a.m. at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Emery and the Rev. Tim Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Cemetery with Benefield Funeral Home of Wedowee in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 5:30 - 8. Tara will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service beginning on Saturday. Tara passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Wedowee Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Survivors include, two daughters, Shaela Michelle Evans and Sidney Ruth Eidson, both of Roanoke; her mother, Linda Ruth Eidson, of Roanoke; two sisters, Crista Silen, of N.J. and Tonya Mason, of Newnan, Ga.; four brothers, Sam Eidson, of Roanoke, Brian Eidson, of Augusta, Ga., Joseph Harbin, of Hiawassee, Ga. and Edward Harbin, of Luthersville, Georgia. Pallbearers will be Tim Whaley, Dennis Stastka, Roy Horsley, Carl Partain, Joe Harbin and Tim Mulkey. An East Point, Ga. native, Tara was born on October 3, 1977, the daughter of Joseph Steven and Linda Ruth Saye Eidson. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church and worked as a manager for Capital Pawn. She loved her family, both blood related and church family, and rarely missed a chance to be in service. Tara loved to travel, was an avid softball player, and loved the Auburn Tigers. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.
