Theresa Griffith Shuler, 68, passed away, Saturday, February 25, 2017. Mrs. Shuler was born on October 9, 1948, in Anniston and was the youngest of four children born to the late Oscar and Elna Griffith. She grew up in Blue Mountain and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1966, where she was a cheerleader, homecoming court attendant, and crowned Miss Cinderella. Theresa retired from Bell South with 25 years of service. In retirement, she owned and operated the Lighthouse Restaurant and Shuler Manor Bed & Breakfast. She enjoyed spending time with her family on the beach, boating, traveling, antiquing and painting. Theresa is survived by her husband, Gary Shuler, of Navarre, Florida; daughter, Tracy Wheeler Unverzagt, of Atlanta, Georgia; son-in-law, Hank Unverzagt; granddaughters, Avery and Addison Unverzagt; brothers, Kenneth Griffith and Ted Griffith, and sister, Tuajuana Tucker. Graveside funeral servics will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 2017, at The Crook Historical Cemetery in Ohatchee with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Morrison officiating. Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre, Florida, has been entrusted with arrangements. The family wishes to thank Dr. Steven DeCesare, the staff of Peoples Home Healthcare and Covenant Hospice for the love and care given to Theresa during her battle with cancer. "May my loving mother be rejoicing in heaven with our LORD."
