Memorial service for Thomas Knox "Tommy" Triplett, 86, formerly of Anniston will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Gray Brown Service Mortuary with Ryan Robertson officiating. Mr. Triplett passed away Monday in Bynum. Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sharon Payne Triplett; two daughters, Lyn Brown (David), of Anniston and Elizabeth "Buffy" Prather, of Charlotte N.C.; stepson, Joel Harvey (Ashley), of Daphne, Ala.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Tommy gained athletic fame as a standout at Anniston High School in football and track and extended his career 39 years as an official for high school and college football. He was a member of the Alabama Football Officials Association. Mr. Triplett was a veteran of the Korean War and served as a volunteer for the Department of Defense ESGR Program. He was very active in Civic organizations. He served on the Anniston Parks and Recreation Board and the Anniston Parking Authority Board.
