Funeral service for Thomas Murray Sr., 82, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Anniston Memorial Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Reaves and Glenn Ford officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5-7. Survivors include his son, Thomas D. Murray Jr. and wife, Holly, and daughter, Kimbra Ann Murray and husband, Bob Halpin; grandson, Jimmy Mathis and wife, Danielle; grandchildren, Zachary Nicholas and Elizabeth Stone; great-grandchildren, Dalton Mathis, Zachary Stone Jr., Alexis Stone, Ava Stone, Langston Garner and Arianna Garner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Faye Murray (Sweet Thing) and parents, Tom and Sally Murray. An Anniston native, Mr. Murray was a long-time member, ordained deacon and member of the Nehemiah Sunday School Class at Hill Crest Baptist Church. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Dashiell DD659. He retired from Lee Brass with 51 years of service.
