A memorial service for Mr. Thomas Phillips Brock, 71, of Anniston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church of Anniston with Rev. Dr. James McLeod Jr. officiating. Mr. Brock passed away on October 8, 2017 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Edward Brock and Jane Chambers Brock; and a brother, Jeb Chambers Brock. Mr. Brock, known by either "TP" or "Tommy" to his friends, lettered in both football and baseball at Hewitt Trussville High School and graduated from Auburn University in 1967. He worked for Blount Brothers Construction until 1972, then moved to Anniston and partnered with Earlon McWhorter to form McWhorter and Co., Inc. Mr. Brock also served on the Board of Directors at The Donoho School from 1996-2006, becoming Director Emeritus in 2006. Mr. Brock loved all things Auburn, and was most proud of being "Poppy" to his grandchildren. He is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 52 years, Patricia L. Brock; daughters, Kristin Smith and her husband, Jeff, and Julia McCary and her husband, Robert; grandchildren, Andrew Thomas McCary, Jeb Patrick McCary, Jessica Lynn Smith, and Jennifer Smith Fox; and his brothers, John Robert "Skipper" Brock and his wife, Linda, Charles Edward Brock, and William Berry Brock.
