Funeral service for the Rev. Thomas "Tommy" E. Silas, 67, will be Saturday, September 26, 2015, 11 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Eden of Home Wood Acres Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Coldwater Baptist Church Cemetery. The Family will receive friends tonight from 5 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Silas passed away on Tuesday at his residence. Survivors include his wife, Linda Silas; daughters, Liz Shears (Chuck), Cindy Hudgins and Tammy Windsor (Jamie Craton); son, T.J. Silas (Heather); step-daughters, Candy White (Brady) and Piper Lynn Warren (Billy); step-son, Guy Hurley (Stephanie Anderson); brothers, Horace Silas, Roger Silas and Keith Silas; grandchildren, Heather Decker (Robert), Paul Shears (Brittany Cheek), Jonathan Windsor (Ashley Parker), Tyler Hudgins, Emily Hudgins, Jordan Silas, Blaze Damico, Haven Geroy, Rylee Silas, Brady White II, Christian White, C.J. Pangburn, Courtney Shultz, Tanner Craton, Rylan Craton, Ken Johnson, (Erin) and Shasta Ellenberg (Stephen); great- grandchildren, Lucas Decker, Mason Decker, Tyler Windsor, Sawyer Ellenberg, Spencer Ellenberg, Cody Johnson, Brodie Johnson, Colt Johnson and soon to be Hunter Windsor. Pallbearers will be Horace Silas, T.J. Silas, Guy Hurley, Jonathan Windsor, Paul Shears, Brady White II, Chuck Shears and Dennis Hudgins. The Rev. Silas was a native of Blount County and a resident of Ohatchee. He has been preaching since the early 1980's. The Rev. Silas served as pastor at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and Victory Baptist Church during his ministry. The Rev. Silas was an employee of Marvin's Building Supply for 37 years. He also served in the U.S. Army for 2 years.
