Funeral services for Thomas Virgil "Turtle" Waldrop, age 81, of Munford, will be Saturday, October 21, 2017, 1:00 PM in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Smith, Rev. Craig Young and Mr. Jimmy Denham will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Oxford. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12 until 1:00 PM at Miller Funeral Home. Mr. Waldrop passed away on Wednesday at his residence. Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Juanita Waldrop, daughters, Teresa A Lyons, Crystal Kay Waldrop, Lisa Bishop, Dorothy Waldrop, sisters, Reble Foy, Lois Hollingsworth, Jeanie Jones, brothers, James Russell Waldrop, Jerry Wayne Waldrop, 15 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Waldrop was resident of Munford and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He served 5 years in the US Marines, also served 15 years in the US Air Force and retired from Anniston Army Depot with 20 years of service. Mr. Waldrop was preceded in death by his daughter, Dana Marie Waldrop Tolbert, brothers, Cranford Waldrop, James Richard Waldrop, parents, Taze and Vera Waldrop.
