Graveside funeral services for Mr. Thomas W. "Billy" Lamberth, 75, of Oxford, will be Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Clay County Memory Gardens with the Rev. Zenus Windsor officiating. Mr. Lamberth passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at Regional Medical Center. He was a native of Cragford but had been a resident of Oxford since his retirement in 1998. He received both his Bachelor of Science and master's degrees with honors from Jacksonville State University, and a specialist degree from Auburn University. Early in his career he was a school teacher in Warner Robins, Ga., in 1959. He returned to Alabama to be the principal of Heflin Junior High School (Little Heflin). He returned to Warner Robins, Ga., and spent the following 40 years briefly being an assistant principal at Rumble Junior High, followed by being principal of both Bonaire and Miller Elementary Schools. Billy measured his success by the accomplishments of his students. His dedication led to numerous accolades for Bonaire and Miller Elementary Schools in Warner Robins. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Evelyn Brown Lamberth, of Oxford; two daughters, Billie Anne Zimmerman (Ron), of North Augusta, S.C., and Felisha Lamberth, of Oxford; one son, Larry Lamberth (Lori), of Suwanee, Ga.; four grandchildren, Matthew Zimmerman (Erin), Olivia Muschick (Tommy), Alayna Lamberth and Ashlyn Lamberth and three great-grandchildren, Skylar Muschick, Grant Zimmerman and Emily Zimmerman. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. Tuesday.
