A graveside service for Mr. Thomas W. Richardson Jr., 87, of Anniston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Forestlawn Gardens with the Rev. Dr. James D. McLeod Jr. and David Hodnett officiating. Mr. Richardson passed away on October 21, 2017 at The Village at Cook Springs. Mr. Richardson is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 62 years, Elizabeth Buckelew Richardson and parents, Thomas W. Richardson Sr. and Helen Gray Richardson. He is survived by his son, Bill Richardson (Pat) of Leeds; grandchildren, Simon P. Richardson of Florence and Mary Elizabeth "Molly" Richardson of Homewood; sister, Elizabeth R. "Betty" Nails; nephews, Craig Nails and Thomas Nails; and special friends Connie Chaney and Bill Wilcox. Mr. Richardson was a 1949 graduate of Anniston High School. He served in the US Navy from 1949 to 1953. Mr. Richardson worked for many years for at the US Postal Service in Anniston, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed playing golf at Indian Oaks Country Club, where he was a member, and was also an avid Atlanta Braves fan and animal lover. Mr. Richardson was beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Anniston, 1701 Henry Road, Anniston, AL 36207. Online condolences may be made to the family at K.L.
