The funeral service for Mr. Timothy D. Lackey, 49, of Oxford, will be at 2 pm on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs. A private interment will follow. The family will receive friends on Thursday from noon until the service hour at the funeral home. Tim went home to be with the Lord on the morning of September 18, 2017. Tim was born on July 8, 1968. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a die-hard Alabama football fan, and a very talented home builder. He was filled with energy and life and was always the first to get down in the floor to play with his granddaughters. His brother, Steve, was his lifelong best friend and the first person he would call whenever Alabama would win. He will be forever loved and dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Tim loved the Lord and was known for his generous spirit. Tim is preceded in death by his father, Billy Joe Lackey, and his uncle, James L. "Buddy" Suddeth, and his grandparents, Hugh Lawson Lackey, Sr., Elizabeth B. Lackey and James N. Suddeth and Mertis L. Suddeth. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lackey, his daughter and two sons, Kristi Taquino and Thomas Shelton and his wife, Ashley, and Andrew Shelton and his fiancé, Alessia Perry; his mother, Linda Lackey; his brother, Steve Lackey and his daughter, Ashtyn; his granddaughters, Anna Leigh and Mattie Elizabeth; an aunt, Janet Suddeth Patterson; and uncles, Glenn Suddeth, Hugh Lackey, Jr., and Bobby Lackey Pallbearers will be Tim Lipham, Phil Champion, Joey McSpadden, Lee Garrison, John Parker, Keith Lackey, Dana Bolton, and Patrick Lackey. We love you so much Daddy! In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Hurricane Relief Efforts through the North American Mission Board, SBC, 4200 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30022-4176 (www.www.namb.net).
