Toby W. Craft, 75, died September 2, 2016, at his home in Huntsville. He was the sixth child and youngest son of Manuel and Emma Craft and last-living of his siblings. He was born in Calhoun County and attended Walter Wellborn High School. After graduation in 1959, he attended Jacksonville State University where he joined ROTC and majored in chemistry. Out of college, he rose to the rank of Captain in the U.S. Army. After leaving active duty, he remained in the U.S. Army Reserves for the following 35 years, rising to the rank of Lt. Colonel. He worked for the Missile and Space Intelligence Center as an engineer, and received a master's degree from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. After retiring in 1996, he enjoyed life, golf, and SEC football - Roll Tide! He is survived by his daughter, Emalee Craft-Foy; sisters-in-law, Jewell Craft and Betty Craft, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service and life celebration will be held Saturday, October 1, at 2 p.m. at Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars. Berryhill Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
