A memorial service for Dr. Tony Dale Bright, 49, will be held at First Baptist Church in Piedmont on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Tony passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 30, 2106. Tony was born August 9, 1967 in Gadsden. He graduated from Piedmont High School in 1985 and received his bachelors degree from Jacksonville State University and his masters degree from University of Alabama. He received his doctorate degree from Michigan State University. He then went on to be a professor at Nova Southeastern University Fischler School of Education and Human Services where he was currently working at the time of his untimely passing. The university, staff and students meant so much to him and his life and will certainly be missed by all those whose life he impacted over the last 49 years. He is survived by his parents, Barbara and Larry Moss, and Bobby and Marcia Bright; sister, Stephanie Bright Foxx; step-sisters, Michelle Morton (Johnny), Stacy Smith (Ronnie), Misty Puccio (Phil), Brandy McClendon (Jason); step-brother, Seth Moss (Misty); many uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and his precious dog, Truman. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until 2 p.m. at which time the service will be held with the Rev. Michael Ingram presiding. The family request no flowers and memorial to be made to The Venecia Foundation, PO Box 52, Piedmont, AL 36272 - which honors his friend, Venecia Benefield Butler - or to .
