Tony R. Roach, 70, of Heflin, went home to be with our Lord on January, 14, 2014. Mr. Roach passed away at his home surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, at 12 p.m. in the chapel of Dryden Funeral Home in Heflin with Brother Craig Spurlin and Pastor Cody Hale officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. with burial following at Heflin Memorial Garden. Mr. Roach is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jane Roach, of Heflin; daughters, Pamela E. Boles and husband, Rodney, of Phenix City and Paula R. Smith and husband, Chad, of Anniston; brother, Jerry Roach, of Heflin; sisters, Monteal Smith, of Oxford, Bernice Ansell, of Oxford, Dale Ransom, of Unadilla, Ga., Ruth Bright, of Fort Payne and Janice Pugh, of Oxford; grandchildren, Steven McEwen, Cody McEwen, Chase Smith, Ashley Smith and KC Simpson; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Roach is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Edward and Mattie Leola Harris Roach and a brother, Kenneth Edward Roach. Pallbearers will be Rodney Boles, Chad Smith, Steven McEwen, Cody McEwen, Jerry Roach and Travis Roach. Mr. Roach is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving 22 years. He retired from the Anniston Army Depot calibration lab in 2005. Mr. Roach enjoyed working at his home and spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jean Ferdinand of Cleburne Family and Sports Medicine for his assistance and support throughout Mr. Roach's illness.
