A memorial service for Valiant Paul Willis, 76, will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the K. L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center Chapel with the Rev. Jim Savage officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday on hour prior to service. Mr. Willis died Sunday, April 10, 2016 at his residence. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet Shafer Willis, of Jacksonville; a daughter, Dana Ballenger and her husband, Thomas of Hoover, Ala.; three grandchildren, Casey Mallett and her husband, Cody and Erin Patton and her husband, Justin, all of Perkinston, Miss. and Brantley Kyle Ballenger, of Hoover, All.; two great-grandchildren, Tucker Mallett and Kierstyn Patton; a sister, Linda Willis Johnson, of Aiken, S.C.; a brother, Larry Willis and his wife Becky, of Weaver; four nephews, Wayne Willis, Greg Willis, Todd Johnson and Kevin Johnson. Valiant was a native and lifelong resident of Jacksonville who loved woodworking and making furniture that family and friends will cherish. He was truly a jack of all trades. He was a member of the East Alabama Wood Worker's Association and served his country in the U. S. Army. Valiant was preceded in death by his son, Brian Willis and his parents, Sparks and Hattie Willis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to .
