Vandora Black Crumley, 102, passed away peacefully at home in Anniston on December 1, 2015. She was born on November 3, 1913 to John and Amanda (Saine) Black in White County, Georgia. Mrs. Crumley is survived by her sister, Bonnie Black Waldrep, of Birmingham; her son, William Franklin Crumley (Ann), of Simpsonville, S.C.; her daughters, Virginia Sue Crumley and Jennifer Crumley Parnell (Miller), both of Anniston; her grandchildren, Shawn Crumley Lawless, of Concord, N.C., Frank Crumley, of Bogart, Ga. and Nancie Craven Chapman (John), of Atlanta, Ga.; her four great-grandchildren, Shane and Sara Lawless and William and Rebecca Chapman, as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews and their families. Mrs. Crumley is preceded in death by her husband, William Howard Crumley; five brothers and three sisters. In her early years, Mrs. Crumley, affectionately known as "Nannu" by many friends as well as by her grandchildren, worked at Pacolet Manufacturing Company in New Holland, Georgia. She was a housewife, who enjoyed baking and candy making. Though she never had formal training, she loved to play the piano, guitar and her antique pump organ. Mrs. Crumley made her profession of faith and was baptized at Central Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia. A graveside service will be today, December 4, 2015, at 1 p.m., at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Wards Funeral Home.
