Funeral service for Mrs. Veleta Brooks Sharp, 43, will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Oak Bowery Baptist Church (3300 AL Hwy 144, Ohatchee, AL 36271) with the Rev. Samuel Fordham officiating. The eulogy will be given by Leslie Neese and Brandy Russell. Burial will follow at Oak Bowery Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour at the church. Mrs. Sharp passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016, at UAB Hospital. Mrs. Sharp was a 1991 graduate of Walter Wellborn High School and graduated from JSU in 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with a Collaboration in Special Education. She touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband, William O. Sharp Jr., of Anniston; daughters, Nastajja Lloyd and her husband, Steven and Abigail Sharp, all of Anniston; step-daughters, Ashley Sharp, of Savannah, Ga. and Lauren Sharp, of Carrolton, Ga.; sons, Dalton Roberson, of Dixon, Ill. and Hogan Sharp, of Anniston; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Brooks, of Anniston; sister, Trisha Hall and her husband, Scott, of Oxford; brother, Alex Brooks, of Anniston; her grandmother, Mary Brooks, of Anniston; two nieces and six nephews. Mrs. Sharp is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Baron Brooks and Charles Alexander; grandmothers, Pat Alexander and Veleta Alexander and father-in-law, William O. Sharp. Pallbearers will be Steven Lloyd, Alex Brooks, Jason Brooks, Adam Hall, James Hibbits, Charlie Burk and Trey Hall.
